To mark its 60th anniversary, the DEGAM Congress on 30 September – 2 October 2026 will be held jointly with three other professional societies for the first time: the German Society for Social Medicine and Prevention (DGSMP), the Evidence-Based Medicine Network (EbM-Netzwerk), and the German Society for Medical Sociology (DGMS). How do social and psychosocial factors influence our health? The NAKO session offers fascinating insights into this topic, drawn from one of the largest population-based cohort studies. Drawing on the latest research findings on income, work, gender, housing and living conditions, as well as mental and physical health, it highlights just how complex these interrelationships are.
