Information on participating in the study
As a participant in the German National Cohort (NAKO), you will be invited to your local study centre for an examination every four to five years. The NAKO study centres are inviting their NAKO participants to the start of the second re-examination.
Thank you for
participating!
Your repeated participation in studies and interviews is very valuable. A basic idea of the German National Cohort (NAKO) is to observe long-term developments and to investigate future health issues in association with data from the past.
We would be happy if you would continue to be involved in the study and also take part in the second re-examination.
Good to know: For statistical reasons, only people who were invited at random can take part. They were randomly selected at the start of the 2014 study via the residents' registration office in their region and contacted by the relevant study centre.
Examinations
As a participant in the German National Cohort (NAKO), you are currently being invited back to the study centre to record your state of health, how you feel and any changes in your lifestyle since the last examination. We would be very pleased if you would participate again in all the examinations offered. It is of course possible to skip individual examinations. Physical limitations are not a reason for exclusion from participation.
