Funding for projects on innovative data analysis for women’s health and gender-sensitive medicine

The BMFTR supports innovative data analysis for women’s health and gender-sensitive medicine. Funding is provided for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research projects that analyse existing health data, highlight gender-specific biases and further develop gender-sensitive diagnostics and treatment.

The aim is to utilise the datasets and access points of existing national health research data infrastructures (GFDI) that have been established to facilitate the digital interconnection of healthcare and health research, including the NAKO.

Eligible applicants include state-run and state-recognised universities, as well as non-university research institutions receiving institutional funding; projects may generally run for up to two years.

The deadline for submissions is 9 August 2026.
