OMICS

Project goals

The term OMICS refers to the comprehensive analysis of all genes and molecular signatures (e.g. proteins or metabolic products).

The interplay between genetic variations, molecular and clinical manifestations and environmental factors is still not sufficiently understood. The expert group accompanies the first steps of biosample use, including the genotyping of all participants and an in-depth molecular characterisation of a subgroup of NAKO participants. The aim is to investigate the significance and relevance of molecular interactions for the development of diseases.

The expert group supports and advises the Biospecimen Committee of the Use & Access Committee.
