An analysis of activity data from the NAKO and UK Biobank from a total of 147,414 study participants, shows that as little as 510 minutes of light, 150 minutes of moderate or just 12 minutes of vigorous physical activity per week are associated with a reduction in the risk of death of around 30 per cent. The results suggest that the benefits of intense activity may be greater than assumed in current guidelines.
