The importance of social networks for health

Project goals

The aim of this project is to survey the social network of participants at the Halle Study Centre using a so-called network indicator.

With a self-centred network generator in the form of a touchscreen table that can be filled in by the user, quantitative and qualitative relationship characteristics can be recorded clearly and quickly. These social networks of participants at the Halle Study Centre are to be surveyed for the first and second examinations using online questionnaires. The importance of social networks as a protective mechanism with regard to the occurrence of pain and pain intensity will be analysed using data from the German National Cohort (NAKO). In addition, the importance of social networks for the development, management and care of multifactorial chronic diseases can be investigated.
