Multimodal data fusion for early detection of dementia

Project goals

Multimodal data fusion for early detection of dementia. The aim of this project is to record autobiographical interviews and neuropsychological tests, as well as MRI measurements of the head and heart in older participants at the NAKO Study Centre in Bremen.

The project ‘NAKO+ILSE – Multimodal data fusion for early detection of dementia’ aims to combine multimodal data from various studies to improve the prediction of cognitive age and thus support the early diagnosis of dementia. Subtle changes in spontaneous speech have long been considered an early indicator of incipient dementia. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measurements provide a direct view into the body and allow us to detect changes in the brain, for example. The data collected thus contributes to a more complete picture of cognitive ageing and dementia processes.
