MedExpo: Assessment of Medical Radiation Exposure

Project goals

The MedExpo project aims to retrospectively and prospectively assess the medical radiation exposure of participants in the German National Cohort (NAKO) and to determine the respective medical indications.

In addition to the retrospective (lifetime) survey of participants of the German National Cohort (NAKO) conducted in four study centers using a touchscreen questionnaire, diagnostically radiological examinations carried out since the last visit to the study center were prospectively recorded during follow-up. The results confirm the growing importance of CT examinations in diagnostics and form the basis for further research on this topic.
