Collection of information on heart attacks via the Saxony-Anhalt Regional Heart Attack Register

Project goals

The aim of this project is to obtain consent from participants at the Halle site to link data from the Saxony-Anhalt regional heart attack register with data from the German National Cohort (NAKO).

Since 2014, the Saxony-Anhalt Regional Heart Attack Register (RHESA) has been recording all new cases of myocardial infarction in the city of Halle (Saale) and the Altmark region. Information on the heart attack and the care provided to patients in all incident myocardial infarctions is documented.

With the consent of the study participants to request data from the RHESA, the NAKO Study Centre Halle can request health data, i.e. data on existing and future heart attacks, from the Saxony-Anhalt Regional Heart Attack Register. This improves the quality of data on incident myocardial infarctions, as comprehensive information on heart attacks is already available in a structured format in the RHESA, greatly reducing the effort required by the NAKO Study Centre in Halle to validate incident events.
